Protecting Public Health in the Built Environment

We all care about the maintenance of our neighborhood, but when it comes to the built environment, it can be confusing where to start to try to fix something.

Philly 311 is a one-stop customer service center for non-emergency issues. Report things like potholes, abandoned cars, graffiti, illegal dumping and more.

If something is dangerous and taking action today could prevent harm, meaning that it can’t wait several days for action from a city agency, call 911 and explain the situation. The Philadelphia police dispatchers are trained to address these calls. 911 is not just for crime phone calls, and this is the appropriate number to call despite conventional wisdom. Police handle dangerous building, street, and public spaces issues (not just active crime), especially after normal business hours.
